A General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Grand Terrace on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, to elect three (3) Council Members to a four-year term each and at which time there will be submitted to the voters the following measure:

GRAND TERRACE GENERAL SERVICES MEASURE. Shall the measure, funding general City of Grand Terrace services such as additional law enforcement services and for general government use by establishing a 1.00% sales tax providing approximately $1  million annually until ended by voters be adopted?

General Services Measure Deadlines:

July 22, 2024 -         Impartial Analysis to be prepared by the City Attorney

July 22, 2024 -         Argument in favor/opposed to TOT measure

July 26, 2024 -         Rebuttal arguments in supporting/opposing direct argument

The Official Candidate Filing Period begins July 15, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. and closes August 9, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Please contact the City Clerk’s office to schedule an appointment between these hours to request and file candidate filing documents to run for office.

Prior to soliciting or receiving campaign contributions, a candidate must file Form 501, Candidate Intention Statement, with the City Clerk. The form is available at the City Clerk’s office or can be found online at http://www.fppc.ca.gov/content/dam/fppc/NS-Documents/TAD/Campaign%20Forms/501.pdf.

An officeholder or candidate who receives contributions totaling $2,000 within a calendar year qualifies as a recipient committee and must file a Form 410 with the Secretary of State within 10 days of qualifying.  When filing the Form 410, include a $50 payment made payable to the Secretary of State. If your committee has not yet reached the $2,000 threshold, mark the “not yet qualified” box. The $50 fee is requested at this time but is not legally required until the group qualifies as a committee. Voter Registration Information:

Voter registration requirements: U.S. Citizen and 18 years of age on or before election day.
